STEP 5: HOMEBUYER EDUCATION PROGRAM

The Homebuyer Education Program is designed to support and educate qulified applicants about the process and responsibilities involved in pursuing, purchasing, and owning their first home. Participating in ALL components of the Homebuyer Education Program is a requirement of participation in Cape Fear Housing Land Trust’s Homeownership Program as well as many mortgage loan packages for first-time homebuyers.

CREDIT COUNSELING
One of the most important steps to successful homeownership is making sure your credit is in good order. With this in mind, Cape Fear Housing Land Trust requires that all participants meet with a Certified Credit Counselor to discuss their finances and credit. The Land Trust makes this service available, free of charge, to all its qualified applicants.
